Saint Seiya, also known as Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac or simply Knights of the Zodiac (translated from the French title Les Chevaliers du Zodiaque), is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masami Kurumada. It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1986 to 1990, with its chapters collected in 28 tankōbon volumes. The story follows five mystical warriors called the Saints who fight wearing sacred sets of armor named "Cloths", the designs of which derive from the various constellations the characters have adopted as their destined guardian symbols. The Saints have sworn to defend the reincarnation of the Olympian goddess Athena (in her fictional depiction specific to the series) in her battle against other gods who want to dominate Earth.

Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken) is a Japanese manga series written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara. Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1983 to 1988, the 245 chapters were initially collected in 27 tankōbon volumes by Shueisha. Set in a post-apocalyptic world that has been destroyed by a nuclear war, the story centers on a warrior named Kenshiro, the successor of a deadly martial art known as Hokuto Shinken, which gives him the ability to kill most adversaries from within through the use of the human body's secret vital points, often resulting in an exceptionally violent and gory death. Kenshiro dedicates his life to fighting against the various gangs, bandits, and warlords who threaten the lives of the weak and innocent, as well as rival martial artists, including his own "brothers" from the same school.

Kiiseijuu is a Japanese science fiction horror manga series written and illustrated by Hitoshi Iwaaki and published in Kodansha's Morning Open Zōkan and Monthly Afternoon magazine from 1988 to 1995. The manga was published in North America by first Tokyopop, then Del Rey, and finally Kodansha Comics.

This manga is about a girl who was found in the jungle in Africa. She was found by a scientist in that jungle, called Mark. Mark, surprised to find a girl living with the chimpanzees in this jungle then brought her back to his homeland called Roland. He named her Pansy. So this story basically follows Pansy, from a girl of young age that acts like a chimpanzee and unable to utter a single word, until her adulthood (young adult). Cyber Blue is a 1988 manga by BOB and Ryuichi Mitsui with artwork by Tetsuo Hara of Fist of the North Star fame. In 2035 on the dystopic Tinos planet, we meet a youth named Blue who is tricked by a police officer into comitting murder and is then executed on the spot. However, Blue had just made friends with a 300-years old machine known as Fatso, who decides to revive him as an extraordinary cyborg. By receiving Fatso's knowledge and memories, Blue realizes the roots of the evil plaguing Tinos go much deeper than the crooks who had him killed and sets out to decide the fate of the galaxy itself.
